Cruzeiro President Gilvan Tavares has denied he is interested in signing Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato.
The 24 year-old netted netted nine goals in 30 appearances in the Brasileirão last season, but that return has failed to impress the Timão faithful, who would like to see him sold.
Pato was linked with a loan move to Juventus in January, while the latest club to be paired with the Brazil international are Cruzeiro. However, despite the rumours, Tavares insists there is no deal in the pipeline.
“Somebody is telling the media this to create some sort of pressure,” he said, as reported byShanghai Daily. “We are not negotiating, nor are we thinking of signing him.
“Our squad is finalised and there is no possibility of bringing in Pato.”
