Hernanes published a heartfelt message on his Facebook earlier and has added to this by talking to Lazio Style Radio Today.
Football Italia published quotes from the Brazilian midfielder and he revealed his goal is to win the Scudetto with his new club Inter Milan, once the transfer is confirmed.
The 28-year-old said: “I am a little emotional, yesterday was not an easy day. I did not sleep at all last night. The fans have loved me beyond belief.
“Those on Facebook were my true words. Since I was a child I have wanted to do something special. When I came here, I wanted to win the Scudetto with Lazio, I have given everything to achieve this goal even though it was not easy.
“The Coppa Italia was really special, I realise that perhaps that was the ultimate goal I could achieve. “
The Brazilian admitted his imminent transfer is nothing to do with money before once again thanking his former colleagues at Lazio.
Hernandes added: “My choice has nothing to do with money or fame, as a child I always had the ball at my feet. I want to do something important, this is the reasoning for my choice.
“I thank the Coach, my teammates, I have made many friends. Thank you to the fans, I will always carry them in my heart.
“I have received more than 2,000 messages, I have responded to only a few, I know that they loved me, but I did not think this far. I have no words to describe how I feel.”
