Chelsea midfielder Ramires has today offered up his opinion on who is the best player he has faced in the game thus far, and it comes as no surprise that he has picked one of the two perennial contenders.
Ramires has cited the talents of Lionel Messi as surpassing those of Cristiano Ronaldo, but has suggested that the pair are not far apart.
Speaking with goal.com.br, the Chelsea midfieder said: ” I’ve faced many good players like Messi and Ronaldo. I think I’ll have to choose Messi as the most difficult to play against. Everybody knows his talent.”
Despite Ramires’ assertions, it is Real Madrid talisman Ronaldo who is officially the current best player in the world, having recently received the coveted Ballon D’or for a second time in his career. Messi had won it four times consecutively before.
