Real Madrid have reacted angrily to claims by Xavi Bosch, of RAC1, that president Florentino Pérez used his influence to persuade the court to pursue proceedings against arch-rivals Barcelona.

Last week, Spanish newspaper El Mundo published an article that called into question the amount that Barcelona spent on the Brazilian star Neymar. In the fallout that followed, former club president Sandro Rosell resigned from his post and was replaced by Josep María Bartomeu , who admitted that the real amount spent on the player had not been revealed.

But according to Xavi Bosch, the case only came to be in front of the courts due to the influence of Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez who persuaded the Minister of Justice, Alberto Ruíz, to look into the case.
