Scocco edges ever closer to Sunderland move from InternacionalScocco has played in Europe previously
Ignacio Scocco's protracted move from Internacional to Sunderland is "80% completed", according to reports on lancenet.com.
The Argentine striker will put the finishing touches on a move to Wearside in the next 24 hours for a fee believed to be in the region of $5 million, as manager Gus Poyet attempts to make adjustments to his relegation-threatened team.
Scocco has long been linked with a return to Europe, having previously played in Greece with AEK Athens between 2008 and 2011.
The 28 year-old attacker has only spent one season with Inter, for whom he managed to score four goals, and will link up with countryman Oscar Ustari, the goalkeeper, should the move to Sunderland materialise.
Scocco has a solitary cap for Argentina, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over Brazil in a 2012 Superclasico de las Americas tie.
