Fluminense head coach Renato Gaúcho has praised Darío Conca following his performance in Sunday’s 3-1 win against Volta Redonda in the Campeonato Carioca.

The Argentinian midfielder rejoined Flu in December, after spending three seasons with Guangzhou Evergrande, and seems to have settled back in quickly at the Rio de Janeiro-based club.

“Conca played very well. Everybody knows about his quality,” noted Gaúcho, as reported by Shanghai Daily.

“He is showing that there is no substitute for class. It was important for him to play well, not only scoring a great goal but by being influential throughout the entire match.

“He is an intelligent player with great quality. If he plays to the best of his ability he’s going to be very important for us this year.”
