Bertrand wants move to Aston Villa to rekindle World Cup ambitions
Chelsea full back Ryan Bertrand insists that a loan move to Aston Villa can spark a late bid to make England's World Cup squad ahead of the tournament in Brazil later this year.
The young left back has found opportunities hard to come by at Stamford Bridge this season and has seen his England career stall at the same time, as Jose Mourinho continues to favour Ashley Cole and Cesar Azpilicueta in the same position.
Despite winning the Champions League in 2012, and having already earned two full caps, 24 year-old Bertrand has taken the chance to move away for the rest of the current campaign to get game time and rekindle a World Cup desire.
"I think it will be in near enough every English player's mind who is playing in the Premier League right now" he told the Belfast Telegraph. "As long as my form is good and I play enough games then you will alwayd be in the hat."
Bertrand will be vying with Cole, Leighton Baines of Everton and Arsenal's Kieron Gibbs for a place in England's World Cup final 23 man squad.
