Chelsea have secured a verbal agreement with Atlético de Madrid striker Diego Costa over a move to the Premier League next season, according to reports.
La Sexta claims agent Francois Gallardo has stated that Chelsea will pay the 25 year-old’s €32 million release clause to secure his services.
Costa has been in excellent form this season, scoring 23 goals in 23 appearances.
The Spain international, who was born in Lagarto, turned down the opportunity to join Liverpool in the summer and agreed renewed terms with Atlético.
But despite their successful campaign this season, where they are through to the UEFA Champions League knock-out stages and challenging at the top of La Liga, Gallardo believes Costa will be playing in England next term.
