Hernanes reveals himself as Brazil’s crucial World Cup ingredient
Defensive midfielder Hernanes doesn’t want to lose his place in Luis Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad and in an interview Esporte Espetacular, of Rede Record, the Lazio player said that it was he himself that Brazil could not be without at this year’s World Cup.
After saying it, the player laughed before going on to praise the unity in the Brazil camp, something which he compared to pie.
"The team is well prepared like a pie. The ingredients work well together and Scolari is like the 'chef'. We’re ready to have a great World Cup," said the 28-year-old.
Besides the Seleção, Hernanes also spoke about São Paulo, the club at which he excelled and created a very strong bond. He said, however, that he does not expect to be leaving Europe any time soon: "I don’t think about going back to Brazil, but of course they are a team that mean a lot to me ... because of the affection of the fans and everything," he said.
