Hector Scocco, the father of Internacional forward Ignacio Scocco, claims Premier League sides Cardiff City and Sunderland have made bids for his son.

Scocco joined Internacional in July, but has netted just three goals in 17 appearances for the Porto Alegre-based club.

With Inter looking to rebuild after a disappointing campaign – they finished just two points above the drop – Scocco is believed to be available for transfer.

The 28 year-old’s former club Newell’s Old Boys have been linked, but with money an issue, it seems Sunderland are better positioned to secure a deal, while Scocco’s father Hector has suggested there is now also an offer from Cardiff City.

“It’s not that Scocco doesn’t like Brazilian football, his problem is that he didn’t have motivation to keep playing for Internacional, nothing else,” he told Radio Gaucha. “The problem is with Internacional, not with the Brazilian clubs.”

“The latest news I have is what we all know, there were offers from England, from Sunderland and Cardiff City.”
