New São Paulo loanee Álvaro Pereira has thanked Internazionale for letting him move to Brazil.

The Uruguay international found himself on the fringes at the San Siro and as such was allowed to join São Paulo earlier this month.

Pereira notes that the Tricolor is a special club for Uruguayans and insists he is in good shape, despite his lack of playing time.

“Physically, I’m 100%,” he said, as reported by sempreinter.com. “In Europe we are in the middle of the season, I feel in shape. I have come to help the team, I can play both on the wing or in the middle. I made this choice with the heart.

“Everybody knows that I for a long time have wanted to come to São Paulo. Outside Uruguay São Paulo is the most Urugayan club in the world. That is why I insisted so much. I promise no titles, I don’t promise a lot of things, but I swear that I will always give everything on the pitch.

“I‘ve come here to win. If we stick together we will win. I would like to thank Diego Lugano who I talked a lot before I came here, the leaders of São Paulo who has put in a great effort and Inter because they understood what I wanted.”
