In the latest round of matches in the São Paulo state championship, Corinthians  beat Paulista 1-0 whilst São Paulo brushed aside Mogi Mirim 4-0.

The Timão had to be patient for the victory, and secured it only in the 79th minute through a goal from Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero.

Things were a little more straightforward at the Morumbi with second-half goals from Osvaldo, Luís Fabiano, Ademilson and Douglas giving the Tricolor all three points against a side featuring the veteran Rivaldo.

Santos currently lie second in their group whilst Palmeiras play on Thursday night hoping to secure the leadership of theirs.
