Everton Ribeiro’s agent Robson Ferreira has strongly denied claims that Shakhtar Donetsk bid for the Cruzeiro midfielder and he instead has stated an English club bid last week.

Reports emerged today linking businessman Kia Joorabchain and Giuliano Bertolucci to a proposal which would have seen Ribeiro move to Shakhtar and Cruziero own 30% of Marcelo Moreno’s economical rights.

However, Robson has rejected that any deal from the Ukraine club was made in quotes published by Lance.

Ribeiro’s agent exclaimed: “No business owner that has been quoted on the matter has been entitled or authorized to speak or do business on behalf of Everton. None of them have ties with me, because neither knows me.

“The only legitimate proposal recognized by Cruzeiro and that they are in possession of was a proposal of €10 million.

“It was from English origin and taken in hand by me to the director of the football club (Alexandre Mattos). He never involved or wanted to exchange any players either.”

As mentioned, the believed offer from Shakhtar would have seen Cruzeiro own some of Moreno’s economic rights.

Robson stated though that Raposa won’t use Ribeiro to sign other players and he also admitted his client isn’t interested in a move to Eastern Europe.

“They confirmed they had received the proposal and have stated that Everton Ribeiro does not serve as a bargaining chip in any circumstances,” said Robson.

“The player has also made it clear that, at this time, he rules out Eastern Europe where we have refused several proposals and Qatar.”
