Brazil President Dilma Rousseff has discussed the delayed ongoing work at Arena da Baixade in Curitiba but trusts that the stadium will be finished on time.

Talking to journalists from Lance, Rousseff said people need to trust the workers and not be against the stadium.

She added: “You can not bet on the worst. I believe everyone is responsible for the stadium, the government and business. I think Brazil have to bet in favour and not against.

Arena da Baixade was meant to be completed by February but won’t be finished until considerably after.

However the Estadio Beira-Rio is likely to be finished over the next two months and Rousseff talked about the importance of that stadium.

It was only two weeks ago that Copadomundo stated that the Porto Alegre stadium was “97%” complete. Rousseff is pleased that it will be completed on time.

“This is the first arena for the second phase of deliveries,” said Rousseff.

“At the end of the month in Porto Alegre, it will be done. It was very important that it was delivered on time.

“Here, eight tems will play. Two World Cup Champions; Italy and Uruguay. We have much to show to the World.”
