Kaká has already turned his focus towards Atlético Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League on February 19th.

Milan were knocked out of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday but despite that the Brazilian believes the Atlético fixture will bring the best out of him and his team mates.

Football Italia quoted the 31-year-old who also admitted to being familiar with Atlético manager Diego Simeone’s work.

Kaká added: “We have a 50 per cent chance of progressing against Atlético Madrid, we start from here.

“This team has a different motivation when there are big games, and we hope to move forward.

“Let’s start from 0-0, we know where we need to improve, whilst Atlético Madrid are doing very well.

“I have seen how Simeone works, but we should find motivation to keep going in the Champions League this season.”

When Kaká joined Milan in the summer, for the second time permanently, great expectations were predicted.

The Brazilian admitted it would be a “special year” for himself when he resigned and although things haven’t gone to plan he remains hopeful of a successful future.

Kaká  added: “Had I anticipated this sitation when I returned last summer? Even when things do not go well, there is always hope for the future.”
