Carlos Alberto Parreira insist Neymar's injury is a blessing in disguise
Brazil technical director Carlos Alberto Parreira believes Neymar’s injury could be a blessing in disguise, as it will allow him some rest before the World Cup.
The Barcelona forward has played non-stop over the last few years, hardly getting time for a break but will be missing the next six to eight weeks with an ankle injury picked up recently.
And the World Cup winner Parreira told reporters that the 21-year-old's injury isn’t the worst news in the world. Brazil Reuters quoted the 70-year-old Brazilian.
Parreira added: “What happened was less evil than imagined (the images). He will recover without needing surgery and time will heal Neymar.
“He will rest for one month (during his recovery). It is going to be good because he gets more rested for the World Cup in Brazil.”
With the hopes of a nation resting on the shoulders of the Barcelona forward you can certainly see why Parreira believes his injury could be a positive.
Many are predicting Brazil and Argentina will face each other at some point and that would be dubbed the Neymar v Messi clash.
The Argentine superstar has already missed two months through injury and Neymar is likely to do the same, which is a good thing for both players according to the Brazil technical director.
