FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke happy at the state of the Arena Corinthians
FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke is happy at the progress being made at the Arena Corinthians.
The stadium, which will host the opening game at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, is nearing completion and Valcke was left pleased after his latest inspection.
“The opening game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will take place at this stadium in just four months and three weeks,” he told FIFA.com. “This morning’s meeting was really productive. We talked about that match and the other games that will be played here.
“The stadium would probably be ready by now if it wasn’t for the terrible accident that took place. We’ve supported the local authorities as much as possible right from the start and we’re delighted with the progress that has been made.”
