Reports suggest Corinthians midfielder Edenílson is close to Udinese move
Brazilian midfielder Edenílson has reportedly signed for Italian side Udinese in a deal worth €3.5 million.
Several reports have linked the Corinthians midfielder with a move to Italy and now Brazilian portal Terra believe the deal is on the verge of being completed.
They state that the result of the routine medical tests are all which prolong the transfer being completed and the 24-year-old is expected to sign over the next few days.
Interestingly Xinhua report that Corinthians aim to use the cash to pay outstanding image rights for star striker Alexandre Pato, who hasn’t shined as much as expected since signing.
They also insist that some of the money could be used to finalise a deal for playmaker Rodriguinho.
Back to Edenílson though, he is equally adept as a holding midfielder or as a right-back but will join a club languishing close to the relegation places in Serie A.
Udinese sit 15th in the table but are only three points off the bottom three in Italy and Edenílson will hope to inspire them to a second half reveal.
It will be the 24-year-old's first taste of European football and he’ll hope to follow the footsteps of a host of other Brazilians who have enjoyed success in Italy.
