Manchester United are ready to make a bid for Lazio midfielder Hernanes, according to reports.
The Premier League holders have had a disappointing season so far, with many pundits suggesting a lack of quality has hindered new manager David Moyes.
With that in mind, the Scotsman is expected to make some additions in the transfer window and the Manchester Evening News believes Hernanes will be one of his top targets.
The Brazil international, 28, is out of contract in 2015 and has been strongly linked with a move to Internazionale.
Some reports have claimed that Lazio are willing to sell, at the right price, though President Claudio Lotito insists Hernanes is staying in Rome.
