Michel Bastos has cut short his stay in the Middle East with Al Ain and linked up with former boss Rudi Garcia at Italian side AS Roma.
The move was widely expected to happen, and Bastos joins on loan initially, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer. A future fee of €3.5 million has already been agreed between the teams, should the Brazilian prove to be a success.
It was whilst working with Garcia at french club Lyon that Michel Bastos came to prominence- a string of impressive displays convinced rivals Lyon to splash out €18 million to secure his services in 2009.
A loan to Schalke preceded Bastos’ move to Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates and Garcia has swooped to reunite with his former player as Roma attempt to buid on an impressive start to the season.
