Vasco da Gama coach Adilson Batista urges players to emulate ‘Barcelona style’ in trainingPedro Ken will hope to play a part in Wednesday's clash
In an activity with the reserves, the coach demanded quick touches and cited the Spanish giants.
The first training session following Vasco’s opening game in this year’s state championship was a light one. Those that didn’t take part in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Boavista had a tactical and physical session at São Januário on Monday morning, whilst those who played in the recent clash only joined later.
The coach, Adilson Batista, first showed the players videos of Saturday’s draw before taking to the grass and enjoying a tactical training session on a reduced-size pitch. Players were limited to two touches of the ball and Batista demanded sharp touches, citing Barcelona as the perfect example.
Pedro Ken, Bernardo and Diego Renan all took part and may come back into the fold for the next game in the Campeonato Carioca against Macaé on Wednesday.
