Real Madrid cannot afford to relax, insists defender Marcelo.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat Real Betis 5-0 on Saturday to move within a point of leaders Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona.

The victory was a fourth in a row in La Liga for Real, but Marcelo believes they can still improve.

“We’ve been here before,” he said, as reported by Football Espana.

“And we know we have to keep fighting, working and winning games.

“We’re doing well but we know we can’t relax.

“I think it’s us who decides if a game is easy or difficult.

“This was a dream result but now we must move forward and work toward our ambitions.

“Our goal is always to improve.”
