Lots of new faces for Brazil's new season
Brazilian sports website lancenet.com have constructed a ficticious Dream Team of players that have moved to the country's major clubs in the close season as well as divulging some interesting statistics regarding player recruitment.
Of the 57 players signed by the so called 'Big Twelve' clubs-Cruzeiro, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Internacional, Flamengo, Fluminense, Vasco, Botafogo, Gremio, Santos and Atletico Mineiro- the majority are attacking options.
And in Leandro Damiao, Santos have aquired the most expensive inter-Brazil transfer of all time, paying Internacional over £10 million for his services.
The lancenet team is set up as a 4-4-2 and looks something like this:
DEF: Luis Ricardo, Lucio, Ricardo, Alvaro Pereira;
MID: Aranda, Bruno Henrique, Conca, Elano;
ATT: Walter, Leandro Damiao.
This side would cause any team problems in the Campeonato Brasileiro and you would not bet against a few of them having productive first seasons with their clubs- especially Damiao who has twice been the league's leading scorer.
