Lazio manager Edoardo Reja hailed Brazilian midfield maestro Hernanes after he came off the bench to inspire Biancazzurri to a 3-2 win over Udinese, despite being down to ten men.

The Brazilian entered the field with Lazio trailing 1-0 and down to ten men but went on to score a 90th minute winner, rifling home from outside the area.

Coach Reja praised the 28-year-old to Sky Sports Italia, with the quotes reported by Football Italia.

“Considering the way the game was going, I didn’t think we’d even get a point today,” said the Lazio boss.

“Hernanes came out with an incredible goal, this is the Prophet I know.

“Hernanes had the right attitude today and was firing up the lads in the locker room.

“I gave him a hand, he cares about the club colours and wants to be important for this team.”

The Brazilian midfielder has been a standout performer for Lazio since joining in 2010 but has been linked with a move away from Rome over the past few weeks.

AC and Inter Milan have both registered interest, whilst II Tempo claimed his agent Joseph Lee was going to England to hold talks with Tottenham or Manchester United.

But for now Hernanes is a Lazio player and as usual he is proving to be the main man for the Biancazzurri.
