Clarence Seedorf is hoping an attacking style of play can help AC Milan get themselves out of their current bad form, which has seen the Rossoneri win only twice in seven matches.

Milan are 11th in the table and Seedorf has now taken charge with his first official match against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

The former Botafogo man believes attack is the way to go as he spoke to reporters, including Yahoo Sports.

Seedorf said: “For me it’s not a question of one, two or three attackers, it’s about a philosophy of how to play. My plan will be to have lots of players in the opposition area.

“Milan’s best performance in recent years, for example against Barcelona, took place when we were able to stay in the opponent’s half.

“It is easier to get a result when you play good football. I’ve seen many of the Milan games so far and I think they deserve more points than they currently have.”

Milan have scored 31 times in 19 league games so far but that is relatively low compared to their rivals who are further up the table.

Seedorf will hope to get his managerial career off to a winning start on Sunday and would like his side to score lots of goals in the process too.
