Lionel Messi hopes Neymar can make a recovery after injuring his ankle against Getafe on Wednesday.
Barcelona won the Copa del Rey tie 2-0, with Messi scoring both goals, but the result was overshadowed by the young forwards injury.
Club doctors expect Neymar to be out for around three weeks, but Messi is hopeful that the 21 year-old can return quicker than expected.
“Hopefully Neymar’s injury is not serious,” he told TV3.
“And hopefully he will not be out too long because we need him.”
Neymar is expected to be back for Barcelona’s trip to Sevilla on Sunday 9th February.
