Internacional president Giovanni Luigi has admitted a meeting with Ignacio Scocco’s agent will take place soon to resolve the Argentines future at the club.

Scocco has been linked with a move away from Porto Alegre since the Brazil season ended in December.

Premier League team Sunderland were mooted as a future destination, whilst his previous side Newell’s Old Boys are also interested in bringing him back after selling him to Colorado last summer.

And president Luigi told Globo Esporte that a meeting about Scocco’s future will happen shortly.

Sky Sports also reported Luigi, who said: “Scocco’s agent has scheduled a meeting with us, he is arriving this Friday and we’ll discuss.

“No club names have been mentioned, and nobody has contacted Internacional at this moment.

“We bought Scocco and we expect him to be sold too.”

Luigi also commented on rumours that Colorado haven’t fully paid Scocco’s transfer fee, which was reported to be €4.25 million and paid in installments.

He refuted those claims though, insisting Internacional has paid at all the appropriate times.

“There is no delay, everything has been paid when it’s due,” said Internacional’s president.

If that is the case any future transfer for Scocco shouldn’t be a problem, now we just wait to see where his next move will be.
