São Paulo are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Álvaro Pereira according to various reports.

Lance have reported that Pereira’s club Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Tricolor to loan the Uruguayan to Brazil on an 18-month deal.

The length of the contract has previously remained unknown but most speculated that it would only be a year deal, however Lance insist that no contract has been signing yet but that São Paulo are confident of his transfer.

According to reports in Italy, São Paulo will pay €1 million to secure the services of the 28-year-old. Pereira’s contract with Internazionale runs until 2016 but he could move to Brazil permanently for €7 million if the loan is a success.

São Paulo head coach Muricy Ramalho wouldn’t speak specifically about negotiations during Friday’s press conference but Forza Italian Football quoted the 58-year-old on the left-back.

Ramalho said: “We can only speak when a deal is in place because it is not complete yet.

“He can play as a fullback or in a position that is further up on the pitch, but speaking about it does not help as it is not official yet.”

Not official yet but we can safely assume that sooner rather than later Pereira’s move to Brazil will be confirmed.
