The out of form Brazilian could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are looking for a left-back. Rather than to replace Fábio Coentrão, it may be to replace Marcelo, who has up to now been accustomed to being Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice. According to the Spanish website Fichajes.net, Monaco would love to take the Brazilian on board.

The French club already have Abidal but he has been acting as more of a centre-back. They are there for in the market for a left-back for next season when they hope to make a return to the Champions League. Chelsea’s Ashley Cole is another name to have been linked with Monaco.

Marcelo is out of form at Real Madrid and a move to Monaco, where he would be unrivalled in his position, might appeal to the 25-year-old. He would also receive a higher salary at the French giants.

In recent weeks Real Madrid have been linked with moves for Alberto Moreno, of Sevilla, and Guilherme Siqueira, currently on loan at Benfica from Granada.
