Bayern Munich looking for a centre-back and are interested in Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Gerard PiquéDavid Luiz is one of two Brazilians thought to be a Bayern Munich transfer target
Pep Guardiola will make the signing of a centre-back his priority in the summer transfer window.
With few options in defence, Bayern Munich intend to make a big summer signing to strengthen their squad in that area. According to the newspaper Bild, three players stand out at the top of the list: Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Gerard Piqué.
In the meantime, Pep Guardiola can rely on the services of Dante, Van Buyten and Jerome Boateng. He isn’t dissatisfied with any of them, but is likely to want to sign a player with a proven track record in Europe. It is thought that Piqué, who he worked with at Barcelona, is top of the list, but it is likely to prove difficult to persuade the 26-year-old to leave the Catalan side.
David Luiz would be the easiest signing to make as the player has fallen out of favour at Chelsea following the arrival of José Mourinho. However, Barcelona also have an interest in signing the Brazilian centre-half.
Barcelona has also showed substantial interest in Thiago Silva in previous transfer windows but have yet managed to secure the signature of the Brazilian captain.
