Napoli are closing in on the signing of Al Ain winger Michel Bastos, according to gianlucadimarzio.com.
The website claims the Partenopei have almost concluded negotiations and that Bastos will have a medical and sign the contract on either Saturday or Sunday.
Bastos, 30, joined Al Ain from Lyon for €4 million in August. Despite often being fielded as a winger, it is likely that he will be used at left full-back by Napoli, with head coach Rafael Benítez seemingly unwilling to use Pablo Armero and Anthony Réveillère in the role over the long-term.
Bastos is not the only deal Napoli are hoping to complete over the coming days. Another Brazilian, Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho, is believed to be close, while negotiations for Tottenham Hotspur’s Étienne Capoue are on going.
