Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Bernard has told globoesporte.com that he still misses many facets of his old club, Atletico Mineiro, who sold him in August 2013.

In his time playing for Galo, Bernard enjoyed a huge amount of success in a relatively short space of time as they picked up the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores in quick succession.

The Ukranians Shakhtar came in with a bid of €25 million for Bernard in the European close-season which saw the dynamic playmaker follow the riches of Eastern Europe despite alleged interest from Arsenal.

Bernard said of his former club: “I miss all of the Galo, everything. I grew up there. I miss the staff without exception. The nostalgia will never end.”

A recent fixture in the Brazil squad and with 10 caps to his name already, the 21 year-old Bernard will most likely be back in Brazil this summer to represent his national team at the World Cup.
