England confirm warm-ups for World CupRoy Hodgson's friendly wishes have been granted
England's preparations for the upcoming World Cup have been finalised with Roy Hodgson's charges facing three Latin American sides and Denmark in the lead up to this summer's tournament.
Speculation was rife that the Three Lions would take on some form of South American side as practice for facing Uruguay in Group D but it was unclear what the exact itinery would be.
After facing Denmark March 5 at Wembley, the build up becomes more intense with friendlies against Peru on May 30 (also at the home of English football), and Miami dates versus Honduras and Ecuador on June 4 and 7.
Hodgson's men will use the Miami base to acclimatise to the sort of conditions they may face inn Brazil against Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica. Getting through their group could also potentially pair them with Colombia in the Second Round and so a Latin-heavy warm-up schedule should stand them in good stead for such an event.
"I was clear to those responsible at the FA that I was looking for Central and South American opposition ahead of the tournament and that is exactly what has been delivered.", Hodgson told mirror.co.uk.
