Cruzeiro defender Dedé has talked about speculation linking himself with a move to Europe, with Manchester United rumoured to be interested.

The 25-year-old told Esporte UOL how happy he is to be linked with these sides but thanked Raposa for allowing him the platform to flourish.

“This (speculation) is good too, especially for the valuation of me, the player. Prior to joining Cruzeiro, I thanked Corinthians a lot for making a good proposal, which I valued.

“I came to Cruzeiro instead and thanked them even more. They give me strength, great moral support and I thank them for allowing me a stage to continue growing, which is what I really needed.

“And today the great teams of Europe are speculated to be linked with my name, this gives me a lot of confidence and makes me very happy. It helps me a lot.”

Dedé’s agent Giuliano Aranda told Esporte UOL that he had received contact from Manchester City but not Manchester United.

Last week Cruzeiro director of football Alexandre Mattos revealed that Real Madrid had enquired about a player that wasn’t Everton Ribeiro.

The Brazilian central defender commented on speculation that it could be him.

“Real Madrid this time? I do not know, I guess not. I do not know, I’ll ask Alexandre Mattos. I have not received anything, but I will consult with my manager.”
