Sao Paulo transfer target Jucilei appears to have turned his back on a return to his homeland and is instead on the verge of a move to Al Jazira in the UAE, reports esporte.uol.com.br.

The central defender, 25, left Brazilian club Corinthians in 2011 to join Russian side Anzhi for €10 million, at a time when the Europeans were on a spending spree to rival the best.

However, the withdrawal of the majority of Anzhi’s financial backing has left them in dire need of selling their biggest assets and Sao Paulo were thought to be in with a chance of grabbing the twice-capped Brazilian for a knock-down price.

Unfortunately for the Tricolour, Al Jazira have offered €6 million for an immediate transfer and it appears that Jucilei will be on his way to Abu Dhabi, where he would team up with countryman and ex-Sao Paulo striker Ricardo Oliveira.
