Brazilian forward Aloísio has transferred from São Paulo to Chinese club Shandong Luneng, who are managed by former Atlético Mineiro manager Cuca.

According to Esporte UOL, Aloísio will cost Shandong £16 million and has signed a four-year contract with the Chinese side.

The 25-year-old is expected to hold a press conference at the end of the week to say goodbye to the São Paulo crowd.

There is a clause in Aloísio’s contract, which could enable him to rejoin Tricolor for $5 million halfway through next season, although despite him being a success with the club they had no interest in keeping him for 2014.

Aloísio will now link up with fellow Brazilian forward Vágner Love, whilst with Cuca at the helm more Brazilian footballers are expected to make the move to China.

São Paulo will miss the presence of the forward who was their top goalscorer in the Brasileirão last season with 11 goals, despite starting just 17 matches, although he did appear 33 times.

The club suffered an average 2013 and has already set about trimming their wage bill and boosting their squad, they’ll hope the departure Aloísio isn’t too costly on the goals front.
