Botafogo manager Eduardo Hungaro has revealed that news on Clarence Seedorf should be revealed on Friday and also insisted new players will be joining Fogão soon.

Gazette Esportiva reported quotes from former Botafogo U-20 coach who also admitted that the youth team players he had been working with aren’t ready for the first team yet.

“About Seedorf, the board is talking to him and by Friday you will have some news. I’m sure he will arrive with all the conditions to help Botafogo. As head coach I must think of alternatives during games.

“The boys who came from the youth academy are not yet ready but the reinforcements that are coming can assist the maturity of the squad. These signings are unconfirmed though so we have to wait.”

The 50-year-old manager also confirmed that he intended to rest some of his first team players before their Copa Libertadores match against Ecuadorian side Deportivo Quito.

“My intention is that the core team does not play the first game of the season. We want to make this team play at least one game before but everything we are planning is to ensure the players are not overworked for this match.”

Hungaro will hope that Seedorf is fit to be selected for their Libertadores fixture at the end of this month.
