Atlético de Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero expects Diego Costa to remain with the club.
The Brazilian-born forward, who has scored 23 goals in 21 appearances this season, is believed to be a target for Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea.
Caminero admits Costa has a release clause, but believes the player is happy with Atlético and will not pursue an exit in the January transfer window.
“The player has a clause of €38 million and the big clubs in England know this,” he said to Marca, as reported by Sky Sports.
“Diego Costa has matured and is smart when it comes to decision making.
“Right now, Costa does not think of leaving, he is hooked on Atlético. He has re-signed a deal that is important, I am confident he will continue with us.”
