Sambafoot are delighted to announce that the BBC’s South American correspondent Tim Vickery will be writing a weekly column every Tuesday for our site. The first of which will be published on January 7th.

Tim Vickery has long been known as the man for South American football news and has been dubbed “Legendinho” for his vast knowledge of the Brazilian game in particular.

He has appeared regularly on English radio stations talkSPORT and BBC Radio 5 Live discussing the latest happenings in South America or revealing transfer information surrounding players based in Brazil.

A freelance journalist for a number of years, 2014 will mark his 20-year anniversary since moving to Brazil in 1994 and Sambafoot are thrilled to have someone with his experience on board.

Sambafoot’s aim for 2014 and beyond is to be a worldwide reference for Brazilian football news.

Brazil has the honour of hosting World Cup this year and the addition of Tim Vickery to our team signals the intent of the organization in becoming the go to website for Brazilian football news.
