Chelsea target Douglas Baggio scores for Flamengo in Copa São Paulo Youth CupDouglas Baggio points to the sky
Chelsea target and one of the hottest young prospects in the game, Douglas Baggio, shined for Flamengo in the prestigious Copa São Paulo Youth Cup as they defeated Santo André 4-1.
Baggio scored Flamengo’s third goal, as he turned inside the box and angled his shot into the bottom corner before celebrating by falling to his knees and pointing to the heavens.
The forward impressed throughout the match and only added to his budding reputation as one of Brazil's stars for the future.
The 17-year-old has been linked with a number of high profile clubs, including English Premier League team Chelsea and Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid, according to British newspaper the Daily Mail early in 2013.
Baggio has been sensational for Flamengo’s youth teams and it is predicted by several pundits, including Paulo Freitas of Sky Sports, that the young forward might feature in the Fla senior team this season.
However, the next match for Baggio is against Aquidauanense on Monday January 6 for Flamengo’s under-19’s, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the talented youngster was in the goals again.
