Alexandre Pato, once the ‘Next Big Thing’ to fly off Brazil’s extensive production line, has been linked with a move back to Europe.

At 24, it seems like the striker has been around for considerably longer, having experienced an early move to Europe with AC Milan as a precocious teenager in 2007.

Things didn’t work out as well as anticipated for Pato and following a succession of injuries he moved back to Brazil and to Corinthians almost exactly one year ago, where he has allegedly done enough to attract the interest of Arsenal.

Sky Sports’ Brazilian expert Paulo Freitas said: “A move to the Premier League is a realistic possibility…as long as the £10 milion price they have set for him is met.”

With Arsenal in particular in the market for a striker, and with many likely candidates unattainable in January, Pato may well be an option Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will consider to maintain their challenge for the English Premier League.
