Casemiro believes he has “adapted quickly” at Real Madrid
Casemiro believes he has been able to adapt quickly at Real Madrid.
The 21 year-old, capped five times by Brazil, joined Los Merengues permanently from São Paulo for €6 million in June, after an initial spell on loan.
The midfielder insists he is happy, despite a lack of playing time, and notes losing weight helped him adjust to the differences between Spanish and Brazilian football.
“I am here very humbly and very focused on the job. I am trying to enjoy this opportunity and am always working hard,” he told AS.
“In Spain, the football is faster, the grass is shorter. In Brazil, the game is slower. But I have adapted quickly.
“I look thinner than when I first arrived? I lost weight when I arrived here because Spanish football is more dynamic. Within 15 or 20 days being with Real Madrid Castilla I was already at my ideal weight.”
Casemiro has made six appearances for Real Madrid this season.
