Fluminense beat Universidad Católica 2-1 in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa Sul-Americana, but Abel Braga’s men couldn’t keep a clean sheet.

The return leg in Chile on the 9th of November remains wide open thanks to Universidad’s valuable away goal.

Juan struck first in the 23 min and Petkovic in the 36th notched up the second goal with a stunning free kick. Fluminense were cruising until a lapse in the 93rd min when Ponce knocked in a crossbar rebound to give Universidad Católica hopes for the return leg.
