Jérôme Valcke states that none of the World Cup organizers are losing focus
FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke praised the organization of the World Cup draw in his monthly FIFA column which was published on Friday.
However Valcke also stressed the need to focus on finishing the tournament preparation now rather than looking back into the past too long.
The secretary general insists nobody will be going easy now that the draw was a success and revealed that there is a buzz in completing the finishing touches.
“The final draw has spurred us on and given us the impetus and motivation to concentrate on completing the important tasks still remaining in the final preparation phase.
“The clock is ticking ever faster and the level of anticipation is rising for all of us.
“None of us organizers – FIFA, the LOC, the federal government and the host cities – have the slightest cause to sit back and rest on any laurels. The finishing touches are crucial, and they need to be added in a number of areas.”
Valcke also revealed that when the stadiums are all completed there will be temporary structures added to bring them up to FIFA World Cup standards.
