Report: Chelsea and Manchester United target Atlético Paranaense forward Mosquito
Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Atlético Paranaense forward Mosquito.
The 17 year-old is yet to feature for the Curitiba-based side in the Brasileirão, but impressed at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scoring four goals.
Mosquito missed the decisive penalty against Mexico - his second of the shootout - in the quarter-finals, but the youngsters performances earlier in the competition caught the eye of Europe’s leading clubs.
Juventus and Real Madrid have been linked, but ESPN insists Chelsea and Manchester United are most keen.
A dispute between Mosquito’s former employees Vasco da Gama and Atlético Paranaense could complicate any potential negotiations, but the latter are believed to value the youngster, who turns 18 in January, at around £4 million.
Should Mosquito be signed by an English club, it is unlikely he would qualify for a work permit, so would have to initially be loaned out.
