Ronaldinho hopes Atlético Mineiro can “go out on a high” from FIFA Club World Cup
Ronaldinho hopes Atlético Mineiro can “go out on a high” from the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Belo Horizonte-based side were surprisingly beaten 3-1 by hosts Raja Casablanca in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The Moroccans will face Bayern Munich in the final at the Stade de Marrakech on Sunday. That game will be preceded by the third place match between Atlético and Guangzhou Evergrande.
Ronaldinho, who netted in the defeat to Raja, believes victory against the Chinese outfit will restore some pride for Cuca’s side.
“We didn’t speak much in the dressing room, but in the next few days we’re going to have to clear our heads, talk to each other and analyse what we did right and what we did wrong,” he told FIFA.com. "We want to go out on a high.”
Should Atlético lose to Guangzhou, they will be the first Brazilian representative to finish lower than third at the FIFA Club World Cup.
