Liverpool join race to sign FC Porto midfielder Fernando
Porto midfielder, Fernando, could be set for a move away from Portugal to Premier League high flyers, Liverpool, in January.
Fernando has impressed many people this season with his performances catching many clubs eye.
Manchester United were rumoured to be entering the race for Fernando but Liverpool seem to be the front runners for the midfielders signature.
The 26 year old has a deal with Porto that runs out in the summer and under the Bosman ruling, Fernando can sign a pre contract agreement with a club as early as January, reports Abola.
With Fernando recently granted Portuguese citizenship this means the player can apply for a European passport, making it easier for the player to sign for a British club.
Reports in Portugal have said that Italian side, Fiorentina, have joined the race for the players signature but Porto feel they wouldn’t be able to reach the players wages.
