Ahead of a possible reunion in Saturday’s FIFA Club World Cup final, Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has been complementing Atlético Mineiro’s star player.

The Bavarians secured their place in Marrakech’s Saturday showdown with a decisive 3-0 victory over Guangzhou Evergrande of China. After the game, Guardiola fielded questions about the Galo’s star.

“He is one of the most talented players in football history. With his mentality and his enthusiasm he changed the face of Barcelona. He’s an amazing player. He can start moves and create opportunities from nothing.”

Guardiola is not the only member of the Bayern party looking forward to a potential reunion with R10. Thiago Alcântara lived with Ronaldinho when he was a teenager.

“Ronaldinho is a childhood idol. I have a lot of respect for him and would love the opportunity to play against him,” said the 22 year-old Spanish international.

To make any such meeting a reality, Atlético-MG must first do their part by beating Raja Casablanca and securing a spot in the final against Bayern Munich.
