Rafael: Manchester United “can take anyone” in the UEFA Champions League
Defender Rafael insists Manchester United will not be afraid of anyone in the Champions League knock-out stages.
David Moyes’ side beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 on Tuesday to ensure they topped Group A.
United can draw Milan, Galatasaray, Olympiacos, Schalke 04 or FC Zenit in the Round of 16.
Rafael admits he is glad to avoid Bayern Munich, but doesn’t fear any other potential opponents.
"I can remember last season when we also won the group and yet we played Real Madrid. I hope something like that doesn't happen again but we can take anyone," he told Manchester United’s official website.
"Manchester City won 3-2 against Bayern Munich, which is a surprise, but City finished second so we can't play Bayern yet. I think that is a good thing.”
The draw for the knock-out stages is made on Monday 16 December.
