Brazilian forward, Leandro Damiao, is set to sign for Santos for a Brazilian record of $41 million.
The 24 year old has spent his professional career at boyhood club Internacional and has now completed a move to the Saints.
The transfer fee is rumoured to be around $41 million,reports FOX Sports, a Brazilian record and surpasses the transfer fee paid for Alexandre Pato.
The forward spent the second half of the season on the bench at Internacional, which saw him drop out of the Selecao. The move could help Damiao’s chances of playing in the 2014 World Cup.
Damiao was rumoured to be on his way to Spurs at the start of the season, but now the Brazilian has chosen to stay in his homeland to push for a Selecao place.
